WASHINGTON-SEPT. 18, 1959 -------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. Fannie CLARK, Miss Josie CLARK have returned from vacationing in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Hayden HICKS and children of Valley Station visited Mr. and Mrs. E.L. RYAN recently. Mr. and Mrs. Paul V. SMITH had as supper guests last Tuesday night, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett SMITH and Carol, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby OWEN and children, Mrs. Garneta RYAN, Susan and Mike. Mrs. Irene WHITEHOUSE spent Thursday with her mother, Mrs. Anna Mae ROBINSON. Mr. and Mrs. Joe SNEED are the proud parents of a baby boy. Miss Mary Ann WHITEHOUSE, Mrs. Mary WHITEHOUSE spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Anna Mae ROBISON. Miss Peggy WHITEHOUSE returned to college at Georgetown Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Grigsby McFARLAND spent last week at Atlantic City, N.J. and attended the Miss America pageant. Mrs. Rilla CARRITHERS, Miss Sallie CARRITHERS, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest CARRITHERS are vacationing in Smoky Mountains this week. Mrs. Birdie SNYDER was given a surprise birthday dinner Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon TROUTMAN. Those present were Mrs. Golden MEDDIS, Mr. and Mrs. James GARIN of Louisville, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph LUTES, Debbie, Pam, Randy LUTES. Mr. & Mrs. Tommy JASPER. Terra, Jill JASPER, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Roby, Neltine, Tommie, George E. James Allen Roby, Miss Elemder McFARLAND. Dinner was served picnic style on the lawn. Pictures were taken, some of four generations. A splendid day was spent. Everyone leaving wishing "Be Be" many more happy returns of the day. Mrs. Mamie HARRIS entertained with a delightful supper Saturday at the Lion Club Park in Mt. Washington. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Earl POTTS of Louisville, Mrs. Vernon McAFEE, Mrs. Gaynell JONES, Mrs. Rita SHERMAN, Mr. and Mrs. Roy HALL, Mr. and Mrs. Jean HALL, David, Bobby, Alice HALL, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon MOTHERSHEAD and Verna LEE. Unless you hav eaten on of aunt Mame meals you can't imagine the meal. Roy Vernon SMITH and friend, Wallace SEIGLE of Taylorsville, from Ft. Meade, Maryland were the week-end guests of their parents. Mrs. Bobby ROUSE and children are visiting her mother, Mrs. Leo HARRIS this week while Mr. ROUSE os attending the fair. -------------------------------------------------------------- PIONEER NEWS-CEDAR GROVE-SEPT. 18, 1959 -------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. James STRINGER and son of Central City visited her parents last week, Mr. and Mrs. Bill MILLER. Mrs. Loraine TINNELL was operated on last week. She is home doing nicely. Her son, Ernest broke his foot while she was in the hospital, but is able to be on crutches. Mrs. Nancy LUNSFORD and Mrs. Tommy VIERS spent on day last week with Mrs. Elizabeth PRICE. Mr. and Mrs. Milton BOES were bed time guests of Mr. and Mrs. Cal LANHAM last Thursday night. The young married ladies Class of Cedar Grove Baptist Church surprised Mrs. Sharleen OWENS with a shower of gifts. Sharleen recently married. Mrs. Mary CARLISLE and Mrs. Regenia ANDERSON spent some time in Tennessee visiting relatives. Visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell CRENSHAW the past week were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence CRENSHAW and three children, Mr. Calvin BOYD and Mr. and Mrs. Roy GENTRY, Mr. and Mrs. Donald SHAW and Mrs. Ainslee SHAW and Mrs. Ed BERMAN, Mrs. Geneva WOOLFOLK. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Allen JONES and children spent one day last week with Mr. and Mrs. Billy STANSBURY at Bardstown. The friends of Mrs. Kate HIBBS of Deatsville wiere so shocked to hear of her sudden death. We extend our sympathy to Mamie HARSHFIELD over the loss of her father. Mrs. HARSHFIELD is our neighbor merchant and friend of our community. Don't forget to come to the homecoming at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Sunday. Bro George BALINTINE will be our afternoon speaker. Everyone come and bring a basket. Will have dinner in the basement after morning services. Mrs. Nancy LUNSFORD, Mrs. Tommy VIERS and son and Miss Robin LUNSFORD spent Monday in Louisville.
