David Nelson Quick, in 1862, wearing his Civil War Uniform.  

David, aka Nelson, entered the Civil War as a Private in Company M, 5th Cavalry 
Regt. of Indiana. 

Additional Comments:
David Nelson Quick was born in Bullitt Co. in 1829 to Ephraim and Mary Quick.  
He married Mary Ann Hamilton in 1857 and they had two sons, George and 
William.    My grandmother's notes say that he died in Tennessee, from disease 
while in the war, but other notes say he died from wounds received during the 
war.  I have never found his burial place, but he was brought back to KY for 
burial, according to my grandmother.
