Remains arrived in Louisville Tuesday, Oct. 26 and was taken to residence of his parents at Waterford, Taylorsville, Route 4. Service was from residence Thursday, Oct 28 at 1 pm. and at Mt. Washington Methodist Church at 2 pm. Interment in Mt. Washington Cemetery. He was a native of Bullitt County, a retired employee of the Bullitt County Highway Department, a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Washington and Salt River Masonic Lodge 180. Survivors: his wife, the former June Langford; a daughter, Barbara Sue Vincent of Mount Washington; a son, Sammy Neil Armstrong of Mount Washington; two stepdaughters, Sharon Ray of Mount Washington and Donna Greer of Lawrenceburg; two stepsons, Robert Helm of Mount Washington and Larry Helm of Jeffersontown; four sisters, Mildred McClure of Bardstown, Ersa Murphy of Clarksville, Ind., and Kathryn Branham and Austine Jasper, both of Mount Washington; two brothers, Carl Armstrong of Mount Washington and Dean Armstrong; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
