Clarence Armstrong, age 47, a well known young man of the Shepherdsville and Knob Creek section of Bullitt County, died at Norton's Infirmary August 13, from a gallstone operation and other complications, after an illness of only a week or so. Mr. Armstrong was a member of the Armstrong families of this county, all of who are pleasant, likable people and are quite popular in the sections of the county where they live. The Deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Armstrong and some twenty four years ago was married to Miss Hazel Merker of Cupio, member of an old Bullitt County family, who with two sons survive him. His is survivied by his wife; R.B. and Maxie of this county, and John Armstrong of Louisville, a son by a former marriage, his parents and a very large number of near relatives and friends all over Bullitt County. The funeral was conducted here Sunday, August 15 by Golden Hardy, West Point undertaker, at the Methodist Church with funeral services by Rev. John Brinson, pastor of that congregation followed by burial at Hebron Cemetery. His active pallbearers were life long friends who had known and been associated with him most of his life and were as follows: Jack Applegate, Jack Croan, Billy Armstrong, Pleasant Snellen, Jesse Pearl, Joe Millner and Linsey Mattingly.
