BENNETT, Mr. John William, passed away in his 86th year Tuesday, August 25, 1953, at the 
residence 306 Oread Rd., in St. Matthews.  Loving father of Mrs. A.D. ROUSE, of Louisville, 
Messers, Clarence and Alvin BENNETT of Taylorsville, Ky.  Devoted brother of Mrs. W.D. 
ARMSTRONG of Mt. Washington, Mrs. Sallie HUNTER of Jeffersontown, Ky., and Mrs. Nattie 
HARDESTY of Fern Ceek.  Survived also by 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren .  Mr. 
BENNETT will remain resting at his residence 306 Oread Rd., until 10 a.m., Wednesday after 
which time he will be taken to the Foreman Funeral Home, Taylorsville, Ky., for services 
Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock (C.S.T.) in the Waterford Church of Christ.  Interment Valley 
Cemetery.

Sarah HOLLOWAY and John William BENNETT's daughter Mrs. A.D. ROUSE was Mattie Ruth BENNETT, b. 
1901, KY; d. 1977, Jefferson Co, KY;  m. Ansel Dare ROUSE 1920.  Ansel Dare was b. 1898, 
Bullitt Co, KY; d. 1988, Jefferson Co, KY.  A.D.'s parents were Max A. ROUSE and Ida Lloyd 
SHEETS, m. 1897 Spencer Co, KY.  Ida died when A.D. was about two years old.  Max's second 
wife Cora Eddie ALLOWAY (m. 1904, Bullitt Co, KY) raised him as one of her own.
