Welsh Vernon BURTON, 69, of Louisville, died on Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at Norton Audubon Hospital. He was a native of Columbia, KY., an Army veteran, retired employee of General Electric and owner of Vernon Burton Well Drilling. He is survived by his wife, Maxine G. BURTON; three sons, Greg BURTON of Pensacola, Fla., Tracy BURTON of Louisville and Kelly BURTON of Brooks; two daughters, Lynnette GEORGE of Louisville and LeAnn BECKMAN of Pioneer Village; two brothers, Harlan BURTON Shepherdsville and Leonard BURTON of Brooks; six sisters, Jewel HOWARD Of Ocala, Fla., Virginia HUNT of Elizabethtown, Ethel EYSOLDT of West Alexandria, Ohio, Norma PITTS of Louisville, Phyllis MOORE of Campbellsville, Ky., and Glenna BURTON of Columbia; six grandsons, Shane SANDERS, Brandon SANDERS, Travis BURTON and Trevor BURTON, of Louisville, Joshua BURTON of Pensacola, Fla., and Kirk BECKMAN of Pioneer Village; one step-grandson, Brandon MCCLELLAN of Louisville; six granddaughters, Tabetha BURTON and Hayley BECKMAN, both of Pioneer Village, Rashell GREEN of Clarksville, Tenn., Amber BURTON and Ashlee BURTON, both of Louisville, and Bridget BURTON of Brooks; two great-grandchildren, Bethany SANDERS and Kayla SANDERS, both of Hillview. Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, at Schmid Funeral Home in Mount Washington with the Rev. Gardiner GENTRY officiating and Bonnie MCMICHAEL playing the organ. Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington.
