She was the former Dorothy May Hall, a native of Boston, Ky., a self-employed housecleaner and a member of Middletown Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave Holmes and Mattie May Hanna Ahart Hall. She is surived by her husband Roscoe W. Barnes; eight daughters, Norma Jean Burch, Jeanette Sidebottom, Venita Morgan and Syble Ward, all of Louisville, Margaret Barnes of Georgetown, Ind., Betty Linda May Ward and Patricia Sidebottom, both of Boston, and Devonia Dean Galloway of Milledgeville, Ga., two sons, Miller Barnes of Campbellsburg and Roscoe W. Barnes, Jr., of Lebanon Junction; two sisters, Lauda Borden of Salem, Ind., and Ann Bolin of Indianapolis, Ind., four brothers, Omer Lee Hall of Bardstown, Morris James Hall of Indianapolis, Bernard Ray Hall and Joseph M. Hall, both of Fairdale; 38 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, at McFarland-Troutman Funeral Home in Mount Washington with the Rev. Eddie Redmon. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville.
