Obituaries appeart to be from local newspapers in LeSueur County, Minnesota area. Death of Mrs. Milton Cheadle. At her home two miles west of Cleveland Mrs. Milton Cheadle passed away on Friday last after an illness of only five days duration, from pneumonia, and the whole community mourn. Lucinda Goldsmith was born in the state of Kentucky in 1841, came to Minnesota in 1864, and three years later was united in marriage to Milton Cheadle. Three children was the fruit of their union, only one of whom survive her namely: Charlie who resides near the old home. Deceased spent her entire married life on the farm where she died. Mrs. Cheadle was a quiet unassuming person who was averse to anything that was of a quarrelsome nature. Beloved by many, she was called hence to await loved ones left behind. She was not a member of any chruch, but a firm beleiver [sic], ever holding up the right and putting down the wrong. She was noted for her natural wit and humor. Was a great lover of home where she might always be found doing service for her own loved ones. The floral tributes were a hugh [sic] pillow of cream roses, and other offerings from the relatives. Besides her immediate family she leaves to mourn here, three sisters, four brothers and many other relatives. The funeral was from the home and was conducted by Rev. Fifield, the baptist minister of Kasota who preached not of the dead but to the living, using as his text the 23rd Psalm, "He is my shepherd I shall not want." His remarks were very impressive. The interment was in the Union Cemetery one mile from Cleveland. "She is not dead but sleepeth." [torn page]... MRS. M. CHEADLE. [torn page]...Friday afternoon, Oct. 10th, at her home near Cleveland, LeSueur county, occurred the death of Mrs. Milton Cheadle. The maiden name of deceased was Lucinda Goldsmith. Deceased was born in Bullet county, Kentucky in 1840, hence was in the 62d year of her age. She settled in the vicinity of Cleveland in 1867, and was married to Milton Cheadle in 1867. Resulting from this union three children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Cheadle, two of whom died in infancy. Mrs. Cheadle had been in poor health during recent years, yet her untiring energy dominated by an ambition for hard work, knew no cessation until the severe attack of pneumonia of five days duration struck her down. The funeral services were held at the home on Sunday afternoon Oct. 12 conducted by Pastor Fifield, of Kasota, and were attended by a large concourse of relatives, friends and neighbors.
