R. J. CLARK Dies After Lingering Illness R.J. (Jonce) CLARK age 79, one of the best known men in the county, died at his home Sunday, May 18th, near Solitude and was buried Tuesday. May 20th by The McFarland Funeral Directors at Cedar Grove, with Funeral services by his friend of long standing, Rev. Richard CUNDIFF, who had been pastor for years. "Jonce" CLARK as he was called by his friends, was born and reared on an adjoining farm from near where he died and had spent his entire life as a farmer. He was a man of splendid appearance, neat, tidy. very courteous, and had many friends in that section of the county. Years ago he was married to Miss Lela Lutes who survives him, also one son Milton and a daughter Mrs. Leon GRIGSBY of Mt. Washington and many friends to mourn his passing. (Billie) in his 87th year, suddenly, Tuesday, October 4, 1953, at 1:58 p.m., at Kentucky Baptist Hospital. Residence Mt. Washington, Ky. Beloved husband of Mrs. Emma CLARK (nee FARMER), devoted father of Mrs. G. Hafer (Mary) Hite, Taylorsville, Route 4, and Charles F. CLARK, Louisville; brother of Lee and Martin CLARK. Service for Mr. CLARK will be conducted from the McAfee Funeral Home, Mt. Washington, Thursday morning, October 6, at 8:45 and at St. Francis Church at 9 o'clock. Interment in Resthaven Cemetery. The parishioners please assemble at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock to recite the rosary.
