Gentry, Dies Suddenly Fred L. Gentry, 70, Mount Washington, died at 11 A.M. Sunday, May 31, after becoming ill at Mt. Washington Baptist Church. He owned Armstrong and Gentry Milk Transfer Lines. Earlier he operated a grocery in the King's Church neighborhood. He had once operated a streetcar in Louisville. He was a deacon of Mt. Washington Baptist church and a member of Salt River Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Tinsley Gentry, a daughter, Mrs. Hubert Armstrong; two sons; Dean C. Gentry, Mt. Washington, and William S. Gentry, Port Richie, Fla.; a brother, Nick Gentry and three sisters; Mrs. Flora Walker, Mrs. Maggie Tinsley and Mrs. Claude Carrico, all of Mt. Washington; 13 grandchildren and a great grandchild. The funeral was at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at McAfee Funeral Home, Mt. Washington and at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Washington Baptist Church. Burial was in King's Church Cemetery. She was a native of Spencer County and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Survivors: her husband, Rufus Gentry; two daughters, Shirley Figg and Brenda Stallings; a son, Ronald Gentry of Taylorsville; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Hardy-Close Funeral Home, Shepherdsville. Burial: Hebron Cemetery. Visitation: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
