There was no banner or date for the clipping: Uncle Hardin HOLSCLAW, one of our counties oldest and best known citizens, died in Louisville last Wednesday evening, at the age of 82, of the infirmities of old age. He was born near Shepherdsville in 1820, at a spot on the right-of-way of the L. and N. in rear to the toll gate. He was one of the wealthiest citizens of the county, being worth about $80,000. His wealth was made largely by fruit. In his early days known as Peach Hardin. He leaves a wife and six children, three sons and three daughters. J. L. HOLSCLAW, R. B. HOLSCLAW and Mrs. A. E. FUNK, all of Bullitt, and Mrs. D. L. DUPRE and Mrs. C. F. DUPRE, of Louisville. He also leaves thirty-one grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. [I believe William Hardin HOLSCLAW was born on 8 Feb 1820 and he died 26 Feb 1902.]
