He was a native of Bullitt County, a retired carpenter and a Baptist. He is survived by his wife, the former Alma Light; one son, Phil Harris of Mount Washington, two daughters, Joyce Derrickson of Louisville and Bonnie Hall of Seminole, Fla; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 24, at Hardy-Close Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with the Rev. Ray Armstrong officiating. Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington.
