Porter, 107, of Mount Washington, died on Sunday, March 9, 1997, at Caritas Medical Center. She was the former Marion J. McGee, a native of Bullitt County, a housewife, a fomer owner of Cyclone Hardware Store and a member of Mount Washington United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, William L. and Elizabeth Barnes McGee; her husband, Clarence A. Porter; and a son and daughter. She is survived by one son, William Franklin Porter of Mount Washington; one sister, Sarah Fox of Louisville; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, at McFarland-Troutman Funeral Home in Mount Washington will William Hust and Ed Plowman officiating the services. Kathleen Harris will be the organist. Gayle Troutman, Melvin Porter, Larry Porter, Chris Porter, Stephen Porter (should have been Horner) and Terry Thornberry will be the pallbearers. Burial will be in Mount Washington Cemetery. Memorial gifts may go to her church.
