He was a native of Shepherdsville, a retired farmer, a committee member of Bullitt County ASCS for 30 years and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Shepherdsville. Survivors: his wife, the former Evelyn Wade; a son, Norman Stallings; daughters Eula Proctor, Eva Grimm and Eleanor Vires; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday, his church. Burial: Highland Memory Gardens, Mount Washington. Visitation: McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt, Mount Washington, 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, and at the church after 9:30 a.m. Friday. Memorial gifts: his church's building fund.
