Washington, KY June 18... The body of L. Thomas TYLER, 76 years old, who had been living at 3115 Southern Avenue, Louisville , according to a note left by him was found hanging from a rafter in the wood shed of King's Baptist Church. three miles east of here, this afternoon. Coroner E. L. COAKLEY of Shepherdsville returned a verdict of suicide. A note, tacked to the wall near the body and signed by TYLER, was address to Will MCFARLAND and Son, undertakers here, asking that firm to take charge o fthe body and bury it in the cemetery at King's Church. The note mentioned financial reverses. He is survived by his third wife and several sons and daughters by two former marriages. ************************************************************************ Date: Tue, 22 Jul 2001 11:03:31 EDT Transcribed by: Pat45324@aol.com ************************************************************************ Subject: obit - Tyler - Nov 28 1956 Truck Bearing 6 Tons William Thomas Tyler, 82? year old retired farmer died at 1:45 a.m. yesterday at General Hospital of injuries suffered in an automobile-truck collision 45 minutes earlier on Fegenbush Lane. Tyler of 1305 Ellison suffered head and internal injuries and shock, according to Chief Deputy Coroner William T. Kammerer. County Patrolman Claude Elzy, said Tyler, driving north toward Bardstown Road, went "wide around a curve" and sideswiped a southbound truck loaded with 6 tons of concrete blocks. Tyler's car spun into a ditch and was demolished. L.L. Gibson, 25, South Park Road, driver of the truck, was not injured. No charges were filed against Gibson. He is a driver for a contracting firm. Funeral To Be Tomorrow The death brought the number of traffic fatalities inthe county this year to 37. There were 51 during the same period last year. Surviving Tyler are a daughter, Mrs. Ray Griffin, with whom he lived; a sister, Mrs. Zane V. House, Mount Washington, and three grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at McFarland Funeral Home, Mount Washington. Burial will be in the cemetery there.
