He was a native of Nelson County, a retired butcher for Armour Food Co. and an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Alvia Curtsinger Taylor. He is survived by his wife, the former Emma Joyce Hardin of Mount Washington, one daughter, Vicki Hogue of Taylorsville; one son, Jerry Taylor of Bardstown; two brothers, Estill Taylor of Bardstown and J.D. Taylor or Shepherdsville; one sister, Alice Bartley of Louisville; and one granddaughter, Nikki Hogue. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug 29, at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home in Mount Washington with the Rev. Charles Gruber officiating. Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington.
