Thomas, 65, of Shepherdsville, died on Wednesday, March 17, 1999 at Vencor Hospital of Louisville. He attended Southeast Christian Church and retired from General Electric after 30 years of service. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts. He was a member of VFW Post 6748 and a member of Miles Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel Thomas and Sarah Johnson Thomas; and one sister, Geneva Thomas. He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Rogers; two sons, Rick Thomas and Ron Thomas; one daughter-in-law, Sherrye Thomas; two sisters Margaret Bolton and Edith Clark; three brothers Robert, Claude and Ben Thomas; three grandchildren, Ricky, Jeremy and Taylor Thomas. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, at Schoppenhorst, Neurath & Brooks Funeral Home in Pioneer Village with Bro. Gene Weatherinton officiating. Burial will be in Brookland Cemetery in Pioneer Village. Pallbearers were Tom Sutherland, Henry Trimble, Jackie Ramsey, Paul Mattingly, Tim Rogers and Jim Hornback.
