Welsh Mary Lillian WOOD, 66, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Glasgow, died on Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Bullitt County, a former home caregiver and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Lebanon Junction. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Walter and Lena Mae ETHERTON; her husband, Leonard Lee WOOD; and a sister, Jennie HUMPHREY. She is survived by six daughters, Betty Jean THOMPSON, Clara Lee HOY and Jeannette HOLTZ, all of Glasgow, Debbie HAMMONTREE of Rineyville, Mary Margaret SKAGGS of Brownsville, and Cynthia Sue WOOD of St. Louis; five sons, Leonard Lee WOOD Jr, of Glendale, Michael James WOOD of Knoxville, Tenn., Joseph Ellis WOOD of Nashville, Tenn., Karl Nolan WOOD and Gregory Eugene WOOD, both of Glasgow; four sisters, Ruby LEE, Susie Mae MCCUBBINS, Edna SIMPSON, all of Lebanon Junction, and Beverly THURMAN of Springfield, Ohio; eight brothers, William Robert ETHERTON, James Walter ETHERTON, Jr., Roy ETHERTON, Donnie ETHERTON, Tommy ETHERTON, Clifford ETHERTON, Stanley ETHERTON and Norman ETHERTON, all of Lebanon Junction; 23 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, at Church of God of Prophecy in Lebanon Junction with the Rev. Jerry CAUDILL and the Rev. Kenny GILLENWATER officiating. Burial was in Cundiff Cemetery in Bullitt County. Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction was in charge of arrangements.
