The Mt. Washington Baptist Church was the scene of the wedding of Miss Nancy Jasper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Jasper, and Mr. E.C. Carrithers, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Carrithers, Sr., Taylorsville, Ky., at 8 p.m. Friday, December 5. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Herman Jacobs. Mrs. Herman Jacobs sang "Until" and "Oh Promise Me" accompanied by Miss Sue Swearingen. The alter was banked in palms, ferns, baskets of white gladiolus, chrysanthemums and candleabras. The bride wore an ice blue satin gown, and veil and carried white orchids and lily of the valley. The bride's sister, Mrs. Jean C. Hall, was matron of honor and wore an all velvet blue gown. The bridesmaids, Miss Mary Vernon McAfee, Mesdames Thomas Rhea Jasper and Mac Troutman were dressed all in blue velvet and net. All attendants carried pink carnations and wore pink carnations in their hair. Miss Emily Jasper, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She wore ice blue satin and carried a basket of pink rosebuds. The groom had as his best man, his brother, Mr. Robert Carrithers. The ushers were Messrs. John Carrithers, Thomas Rhea Jasper and William Jasper.. The ring bearer, a nephew of the groom, was Master Dale Wallace. All groomsmen were dressed alike in dark tuxedos and wore white carnations. A reception was held at the home of the brides's parents for the immediate families, after which the couple left for a 10-day trip to New Orleans. On their return they will be at their home in Taylorsville.
