Shepherdsville, Bullitt Co. 12 Jan 1880 with J. T. SWEARINGEN as surety.

following is the certificate for the marriage:

Residence: Bullitt County  age 28 years - his first marriage
Occupation: Farmer
Birthplace in Bullitt County - father born in Nelson Co. KY  Mother born in 
Marion Co. KY

Bride Mary E. SWEARINGEN 
Residence: Bullitt County  age 23 years - her first marriage
She and her parents born in Bullitt County
Under "Remarks" is the information that she was the daughter of J. T. 
SWEARINGEN and that the couple was to be married at the residence of the 
bride 15 Jan 1880

At the bottom is the note : "This is to Certify that on the 15 day of January 
1880 the Rites of Marriage were legally Solemnized by me between Christopher 
P. DEACON and Mary E. SWEARINGEN at the home of the bride in the County of 
Bullitt in the presence of J. H. DEACON and L. C. SWEARINGEN and W. F. 
LANDERS.
