Know all men by these presents that we Alexander HILTON and John 
WILMOTH are held and firmly bound unto Charles SCOTT Governer of Kentucky in 
the sum of fifty pounds  current money to be paid to our said Governor and
his successors to which payment well and truly to be made we bind our
selves our heirs execs and admins jointly and severally by these 
present sealed with our seals  and dated this 1st day of June 1809.
The condition of this obligation is, such that if there is no legal
cause to obstruct a marriage intended shortly To be solemnized between the 
above bound Alexander HILTON and Martha SANDS both being over twenty one 
years of age as proved by the oath of William JONES then the above obligation 
to be void else to remain in full force
