WILL OF THOMAS JEFFERSON BOWMAN

In the name of God, amen, I Thomas J. Bowman of the County of Bullitt, State of Kentucky, do 
make this my last will and testament- being weak of body, but strong of mind and disposing 
memory-doth ("request", lined out) bequeath and ("devise", lined out) desire that all of my 
just debts be paid of my estate, funeral expenses etc. 2nd I bequeath to my wife one third 
of the remainder during her widowhood, then to be equally divided among the children of my 
body. viz. Martha Bowman, Tilford Bowman, Jacob W. Bowman, Geo Ellen Bowman, Henry Clay 
Bowman and and any more that may be born of my body, and the other two thirds real personal 
and mixed to be equally divided among the above named children. 3rd I do desire that my 
brother Jacob W. Bowman shall act as executor of my Estate or will, In testamony there of I 
have affixed my hand Seal this 6th day of July 1846.

This last will of Thomas J. Bowman dec'd was this day produced in open Court by J.W. Bowman
Exor. for record: and this same was proven in Court by the oathes of Jos. F. Birkhead and 
S.A. McKay --- subscribiing witnesses thereto agreeably to law and order to be recorded and 
thereupon the same is truly recorded in my office.
