Deed Book K p. 349 RICHARD PRATT of the County of Bullitt and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and PETER BRENTLINGER of the County and State aforesaid of the other part... that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and thirteen dollars sixty eight cents in hand paid hath given, bargained and sold all that tract or parcel of Land situate and being in the County of Bullitt on the Waters of Salt River containing nine acres one quarter and thirty Eight poles be the same more or less . Will Book D p. 288 I PETER BRENTLINGER of the town of Mount Washington, Bullitt County, State of Kentucky, being weak in body, but of a sound disposing mind and memory, do hereby declare and publish this my last Will and Testament revoking all former wills made by me. First I give and bequeath to my beloved wife ANN MARGARET BRENTLINGER my Tract of land on the creek called Whitaker on the north side of Salt River in Bullitt County containing about eighty five acres conveyed to me by JOHN LEWIS and and RICHARD PRATT in separate deeds, which deeds are recorded in the Clerks office of Bullitt County also a two acre lot adjoining the Southern part of the said town of Mt. Washington conveyed to me by EDMUND STRINGER and JOSEPH HOUGH by separate deeds and recorded in the Clerks office of the Bullitt County Court, also the several parts of lots on one of which parts is erected the house wherein I reside in the said town of Mt. Washington, heretofore sold a portion of said lots to STEPHEN S---- (SEARCY?) & WELCH and they to GODFREY WOLF the above named lots situate in the said town of Mt. Washington were conveyed to me by ENOCH/ENOS KERR see deeds recorded in said Clerks office of Bullitt County Court. I also give and bequeath to my said wife ANN MARGARET the following named slaves : RACHAEL aged about Eight years, NEBO (?) aged about seven years. FANNEY aged about four years, CAROLINE aged about two years & PATRICK about three weeks old. Also all my household and kitchen furniture, but the foregoing bequests of my land, lot & parts of lots, Slaves, household & kitchen furniture to my beloved wife ANN MARGARET BRENTLINGER is bequeathed to her so long as She remains my widow and during her widowhood to be used by her for her comfortable support, and that of my children, and to give them a good Education such education as will enable them to do their own business my money on hand I will and desire be placed on interest until my youngest child arrives at age and all my money due to me by note or otherwise, deducting therefrom a sufficient sum to cover and pay my funeral expenses and Just debts. I will and desire that all my cattle with the exception of two cows to be selected by my wife, my interest on two horses, a Brown and a Bay, two waggons and gearing and hogs and two mules now in partnership between WILLIAM STEPHENS and myself be sold and my share of the money arising from the sale thereof be loaned out at interest until my youngest child arrives at the age of twenty one years. It is further my will that should my wife ANN MARGARET consider it necessary and will re---d to the interest of herself and my children namely JOSIAH BRENTLINGER, WILLIAM BRENTLINGER, Andrew BRENTLINGER, BENJAMIN W. BRENTLINGER, and JOHN E. BRENTLINGER to sell any of the household and kitchen furniture and it is my will and desire that should any of my said children JOSIAH WELLS, WILLIAM S. ANDREW T., BENJAMIN W. and JOHN E. marry during the widowhood of my said wife, that she will give to such child or children so marrying any of the household and kitchen furniture, that she can spare and charge the same to such child or children upon general division of my said property real & personal among them. Should my said wife ANNE MARGARE marry again then and in that event the bequests made by me to her in this my last will and Testament, cease and she to (be) confined to her third part of my estate, and the other two thirds to be managed for the benefit of my said children JOSIAH WELLS BRENTLINGER, WILLIAM S. BRENTLINGER, ANDREW T. BRENTLINGER, BENJAMIN W. BRENTLINGER and JOHN E. BRENTLINGER -should my said wife ANN MARGARET remain my widow until her death then and not until then shall land equal division of my estate real and personal slaves and money take place among my s’d above named children and I do hereby constitute and appoint WILLIAM STEPHENS of Mt. Washington, Bullitt County, Ky, sole executor of this my last will and Testament.
