Will of John Cameron I, John Cameron of Bullitt County and State of Kentucky being of sound and disposing mind and memory but of advanced age and under the consciousness that my (death?) is certain and eminent according to the established course of nature (I hereby?) do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament. First it is my will that whatever land I shall be possessed of or entitled to shall be vested in and belong to my beloved brother, The Reverend Archibald Cameron of Shelby County and State aforesaid to him and his heirs forever. Second, It is my will that whatever slaves I shall possess or be entitled to at my death shall vest in my said beloved brother Archibald Cameron to be held by him, his heirs in trust for my two nephews Archibald Brown and John Brown to be given to them by my said brother when and in such parcels as he shall in his discretion think most prudent during his life. But at his death, the said slaves are to be vested in and belong exclusively to my said nephews Archibald C. and John Brown, or the survivor of them. If either of them shall have departed this life without lawful issue, living at he death of my said brother, then the other is to have the whole of my slaves and if both of them shall have departed this life without issue before the death of my said brother then the said slaves are absolutely to vest in and to be disposed by my said brother at his direction and failure of each disposition are to descend to his heirs as the law may direct. My slaves exist in unbroken families. I am unwilling that the family chain among them should be broken, and therefor recommend it my brother to be respectful of the family ties and sympathies which exist among them in any disposition he may make of them. I make the like recommendation to my beloved nephews in relation to the said slaves when they shall have come into their possession. Third, All the balance of personal estate of whatever kind or description is hereby given to my said brother Archibald Cameron charged with the payment of whatever debts I may owe at my decease. Lastly, I hereby constitute and appoint my said brother Archibald Cameron the sole executor of this my last will and testament and having unlimited confidence in him I hereby direct that no bail shall be required of him by the County Court when he takes upon himself the executorial duties herein enjoined. The Court is required to record him as my executor without requiring of him any bail or security whatever for the performance of his duty or any oath for the true performance thereof.
