Will Book G p. 291 Know all men by these presence that I WILLIAM CROAN of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky in view of the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death at Such times as ..... (damaged)... shall ordain do hereby declare and subscribe the following as my will which I desire all persons subscribe... the following. It is my will that my debts shall be paid out of any money which I may leave, and that So much of my property real and personal at the discretion of my executors shall be sold as shall be necessary to pay all my debts. It is also my will that after my Said debts shall be paid, all the residue of my property personal and real shall be divided by my Executor into three equal parts and that two parts shall belong to my three children NANCY ANN CROAN and ANGELINE CROAN and MARTHA B. CROAN and the other part thereof that is to say one third of all my property real and personal and of money or debts due me shall belong to and be hereby declared to belong to my dear and beloved wife EMILY CROAN. It is also my will and positive direction that my said wife shall be an and She is hereby declared to be the sole guardian of my said children and that she shall have in her possession control and descretion of them until they shall respectfully arrive at the age of twenty one years old knowing her to be the best person in the world to perform this sacred trust. It is allso my will that my Said wife EMILY CROAN be and She is herby declared my executor to carry this will into effect and to that end I do hereby waive all legal process and letters of administration, and dispense with any and all security on the part of my Said executor and direct that She may proceed and execute this will the Same that I could do were I alive. Having thus provided for all my worldly affairs I commit my Soul to God and ask the prayers of the God for his Divine blessings. CROAN do hereby add the following Supplement to the above as my last will and testament towit: I give full power to my wife and executor the full power to sell any of her property in which she may See proper to sell ----- it will pay all my debts and keep my property in stead thereof towit her lands or so much thereof as will pay said debts and shall keep so much of my land as will recompense her for what she may pay out of hers. SIMPSON or any two of which being first & duly sworn may act be and they are hereby appointed appraisers to appraise the personal estate of said decedent and make a report to court. Inventory was returned 21 Oct 1865 and included household items as well as: one Note on WASHINGTON CLARK for $25.00 order on THOS. MIFFEN from W. H. KINDISON be and are hereby appointed appraisers of the estate of the said decedent and return a report to the court. Inventory taken 20 Dec 1865 - along with household items it included: note on JOHN HARSHFIELD, HARDEN HARSHFIELD and CASPER HERPS Due 4 Oct 1866 Baring intrest 4th Oct 1865 for $200.00 one note on A. C. KINDERSON and J. R.
