KY Will Book B p. 49 In the name of God Amen, I BLUFORD CRENSHAW of Bullitt County and State of Kentucky do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I resign my soul unto the hands of almighty God hoping and believing a remission of my sins by the merits and meditation of Jesus Christ and my body I commit to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executor herein after named and my worldly Estate I give and devise as follows: First it is my desire that the plantation whereon I now live should be rented for five years for grain by my Executor here after named payable yearly at so much per year. It is my desire that the rents and profits be appropriated to the sole use of my beloved wife RHODA CRENSHAW and my beloved children namely JAMES CRENSHAW, POLLY CRENSHAW, and MARTHA CRENSHAW, all to share equal in the rents and profits of the aforesaid rents but if my beloved wife before mentioned should marry before my aforesaid children should come to law full age then and in such case it is my desire that she my aforesaid wife should take her thirds of all my Estate, both real and personal, my Just debts being first paid. It is further my will and desire that my aforesaid wife should have the use of my negro woman named BET and her child called MARY so long as she shall remain my widow and keep my children with her. It is also my desire that my negro boy named LEWIS should be hired by the year to gether with the blacksmith tools for the currency of the State which I leave to the discretion of my Executors to continue to hire or to sell the aforesaid boy LEWIS and tools provided they be of Opinion that a sale would be adventageous to my wife and children. It is further my desire that after my wife’s death should be taken the residue of my ---- and personal property should be equally divided among all my children above mentioned and it is further my desire that my Executor should purchase a small farm some where on ----- where it is supposed to be ---- with no money or debts due and after they may ---- (very dark on the film and unreadable) for use of my wife and children so long as she remains my widow or keeps my children with her and after her death or marriage to be equally divided amongst all my children as mentioned concerning my other land and property. Further it is my desire that my executor shall Examine my crops on the ground together with all the small ----- and after taking there from a full support for my wife and children, the ballance to be sold at the discretion of the Executor together with all my stock except a support for my wife and children to be taken and valued by my executors except one muley steer called Buck which I give and devise to my son JAMES and lastly I do appoint ELISHA JAMES and OVERTON CRENSHAW Sole Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and disannulling and revoking all other wills heretofore by me made.
