Will Book B p. 196 (will) & p. 252 ( sale) In the name of God Amen. I Philip FOX of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky being weak in body but of sound mind and memory do make and declare this to be my last will and testament. First I desire that after my death to be plainly and decently entered by the side of my Wife and that my burial expenses be paid by my Executors hereafter to be named out of the proceeds of my estate. 2nd I will and desire that all my just debts be paid. 3rd I will and bequeath to my daughter Elender FOX fifty Dollars in Cash to be first paid out of the proceeds of my estate, and One bed, bedstead and furniture, and to have first choice of all the beds in my house and to take possession of the same at my death. 4th I will and bequeath by daughter Susannah FOX Fifty dollars in Cash to be paid out of the proceeds of my estate also one bedstead and furniture, and to have second choice and one cow now claimed by her and to take possession of the bedsteads & furniture & Cow at my death. 5th I will and Bequeath unto my Son Jacob FOX one bed, bedstead of furniture to take possession of the Same at my death. 6th I will and bequeath to my Son William FOX one Sorrel Stud horse called Sampson now claimed by him and that he take posssion of him at my death. 7th I will and bequeath that all the remainder of my estate be sold and the money arising from the sale thereof except One hundred dollars heretofore devised to my two daughters Elender FOX and Susanna FOX in the 3 & 4 devised in this my last will and testament be divided equally among all my children hereafter named: Sally who intermarried with Charles BOYD of South Carolina, Jacob FOX, Elizabeth who intermarried with John WELLS of Jefferson County Kentucky, Patsy who intermarrid with Abraham JOBE, Jane who intermarried with George ZILHART, Elender FOX, Susanna FOX, William FOX and my daughter Polly BLIVEN (and not to her husband James BLIVIN, to him I will bequeath Nothing). 8th I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my son in Law Abraham JOB and my son Jacob FOX executors of this my last Will and Testament and that they execute the duties of Executors without giving bond and Security in Court by me heretofore made. SUMMER) 17 November 1828 Sales of the estate of Philip FOX deceased sold 15 Dec 1828 were returned. The prices were very hard to read so I didn't get them but the buyers and what they bought were as follows: Thomas POTTER bought 4 choice Hogs, 1 Bell, mettle tea kettle, 1 Stew Kettle .50, Shovil & Tongs Wash Bowl , 6 Liver Pool Plates , 1 Steak dish 1 set cups & saucer 1 small dish, 1 small dish, 5 Split bottom chairs, Barrel and some flour, 1 sieve, 1 Buckett, 2 1/2 Bushels of Corn, 1 Meal bag, 4 Chickens, 1 Bureau, 40 Bushels of Corn, 1 Dining Table. James BLIVENS bought 4 Hogs 2nd choice, 1 Tea Bord, Small Bedstead Bed of furniture, 40 Bushels of Corn John BUZAN bough 6 Hogs last choice, 1 cow,, 1 pair stretchers, 1 Gallon Kettle, 1 lot pewter plates, Small tray, 2 Crocks, Cofee Mill, Side Saddle. Lewis SLIGER bought a plough and an oat sack George C. B. HEDGES bought a Gray Mare, 2 pewter Basins, 1 Cullender, 1 Sugar chest. John WELLS bought 1 Bay Horse and a Tract of Land Overton HARRIS bought One Bay horse called Coop Asa HALL bought 1 Cow Smith (?) BARBER bought One Cow Abraham JOBE bought Corn, 1 square tub and 1 Quilt, 3 Negros Lewis, Amy (?) and Elijah James HALL bought corn and hooks Moses HOUGH bought four sheep 1st choice William LEWIS bought 4 sheep 2nd choyce and 4 sheep 3rd choyce William STRINGER bought 5 Sheep 4th & last choice William BARNS bought 5 geese first choice, 2 rakes, 2 broad hoes and one pot. one shovel plough, one auger, one hand saw, one cutting box, smoothing irons, one Tub and keeler David HALL bought one brier scythe Henry DEBO bought an 8 Gallon Kettle, one ----- cutter, 1 barrel of vinegar William BALEY bought one watering pot Ellender FOX bought one Copper Kettle, one small frying pan, a pair of pot hooks, one trunk. Charles FIELD bought 2 pans Cornelius BOGARD bought 1 pot trammel, knifes and forks and a knife box Edm'd (or Edw'd) CARDWELL bought one wash pan and strainer, one set of cups and saucers, one clock reel, one big wheel. Richard PORTER bought 2 crocks, one lamp, one pickling tub, one tub & keel, one padlock, 4 ---- barrels, 1 meat tub, 1 Grout tub William GRAHAM bought a teapot, a Sugar bowl, one cupboard, one buckle Henson STEPHENS bought one basket, one small desk, 1 small trunk William RIDGEWAY bought 1 quill or quilt wheel Pleasant SCOTT bought one Cross cut saw William FOX bought 40 bushels of ---- (corn?)
