"Seventy-five years ago (ca 1902?) Mount Washington extended its borders, to include the following: At the junction of Flatlick (or Manslick) Road and Bardstown Road, now Hwy 31E, W. T. Fox operated a woodwork shop with Zachary Taylor King as blacksmith. Mr. Fox made and/or repaired single trees, double trees and such other items used by farmers. Mr. King shod horses principally." Washington THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF WILLIAM THOMAS FOX. 1st- I desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid in full. 2nd- I request that my casket shall be like the one furnished for my wife and that I be laid by her side in my lot in the new addition to the Mt. Washington Cemetery and that the date of my death be recorded on our double tombstone. 3rd- I desire that any cash that I may have on hand and in banks, either on open accounts or on time deposits, together with my stock in the Peoples Bank of Mt. Washington Ky. and any individual notes and accounts be equally divided between my brother P. N. Fox, and my sister, Mrs. Lizzie Barns, of Kissimee Florida, my nephew, William J. Fox and the children of my niece, Tina Welch, deceased. 4th- Should my sister, Mrs. Lizzie Barnes die before I do, Then I desire that the portion alloted to her shall revert to the surviving heirs as named in clause #3. 5th- I request that the contents of my shop consisting of a stock of goods, and tools, together with the contents of the warehouse on the north side of turnpike, shall become the absolute property of my brother, P. N. Fox, but the shop, warehouse and real estate connected therewith, shall be his during his natural life, and after his death to revert to the surviving heirs as named in clause #3. 6th- The one-half interest in a piece of land purchased of W. T. Swearingen, deceased, I desire shall go to my brother, P. N. Fox, during his natural life, with the request (that he keep) up the repairs and pay the tax on same, and at his death to revert to the surviving heirs as named in clause #3. 7th- I bequeath to my nephew, William J. Fox, my watch and chain with the masonic charm attached. 8th- I hereby name and appoint my brother, P.N. Fox, and my nephew, William J. Fox, administrators of my estate without bond. Fox, deceased, was produced in open court and proved by the oath of J.W. Long a subscribing witness thereto, to have been signed and acknowledged by WIlliiam T. Fox, to be his last will and testament in his presence and in the presence of W. L. Barnes the other subscribing witness that they attested same at his request, in his presence and in the presence of each other- the signature of W. L. Barnes one of the witness was proved to be his genuine signature- full capacity of mind of said testator at the time of making said will was also proved-and same being fully proved as required by law was admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded as the last will and testament of William Thomas Fox, deceased, which with this certificate I have truly recorded in my office - this the 10th day of February, 1914.
