I Mary FALKER being weak in body but of sound mind do make, constitute and ordain this my last will and Testament. First I consign my soul to deity, the author of its existence and my body to the dust its common parent. As to my worldly goods chattls and lands I devise and leave them as follows (towit) My Tract of Land on Knob Creek in Bullitt County I leave and devise to my son William WELCH and my Grand son Samuel WELCH equally that is one half to each to be divided according to its value, my grandson Samuel WELCH is not to have possession of his half of said tract untill he arrives at the age of twenty one years. In the mean time the rents and profits of his half of said tract is to go in support and discharge of his schooling and other necessarys and I hereby appoint Nathan MILES (or possibly MILLS) my Grand son Samuel WELCH's guardian and superintendent over said tract so devised to him. To my Grand daughter Polly HITE I devise my best bed and bedstead and furniture of said bed and one falling leaf Table and bureau. I leave said Polly HITE and Jenny her sister to the Care of Solomon NEAL. To my Grand son William WELCH I leave and devise the house and lot in the Town of Shepherdsville on which I now live. The said William is not to have the possession untill he arrives at the age of twenty one years until which time the rents and profits are to go in discharge of schooling and other necessarys. I leave him in care and guardianship of Nathan MILES who is to dispose of him and my Grand son Samuel as he shall think best and who is hereby authorized to manage the property devised to them to the best advantage for their benefit. To my grand daughter Polly WELCH I leave three hundred dollars to come to her when she is married from the hand of Nathan MILES who is also appointed her guardian. Should any of the aforesaid children die before the time fixed for the property to come to their possession then it is to go to their brothers and sisters equally to be divided that is the part devised to the child who died. I devise to my Grand son William WELCH my negro man Bob to come to his possession when William shall arrive to the age of Twenty one, in the mean time the hire of said Bob is to go to the benefit of my grand children, Samuel WELCH, Polly WELCH and William WELCH to go in discharge of there schooling and other necessaries. I hereby appoint Nathan MILES to supervise the hiring out of said Bob and to apply the money to the several uses above mentioned. Given under my hand this 10th day of September 1822.
