In the name of God Amen. I Royal Glass late of Bullitt County State of Kentucky do ordain this my last will and Testament. I will and bequeath to my son Wm. H. Glass all my Negroes to him and the heirs of his own body and he is to take such Negroes at my death at their fair valuation and he is to pay to F. Mariah Gardner one third part of said valuation in money before the Negroes is moved out of the state, and he is to pay to Eliza Ratliff one third part of the valuation of the Negroes before the Negroes are moved out of the State. I will and bequeath to my dear wife Elizabeth Glass my home farm and all the household and Kitchen furniture, and Young bay mare and the black mare and farming utensils, 2 plows, a two horse plow and one horse plow and Bearing for the same and two hoes, 2 axes and a Log chain all of the above property with one year's provision, Ten head hogs & Ten hed of shep, first choice & 2 cows, first choice, all of which property I will to her during the time she remains my widow, but if she ever marry all of said property to be sold and the proceeds equally divided between my three children and all the ballance of property to be sold and equally divided with my children, I will and bequeath that all my property sold and the proceeds equally divided between my three children, including my part in my fathers Land in Scott County that to be sold & of the proceeds to be divided in like manner, and should there be any money in my possession at my death, to be divided equally as above named. Samuels Clk certify that the foregoing last will and Testament of Royal Glass, deceased, was on the 21st day of January 1856 produced in open Court and proven by the oaths of M. Carpenter and J. M. Carpenter to be the last will & Testament of Royal Glass, dec'd. Whereupon said will was ordered to be recorded, which is truly done in my office. R. F. Samuels, Clk No all men by these presents that I, Royal Glass, late of Bullitt County, Ky., do ordain this my last Will and Testament revoking all other wills heretofore made. I will and Bequeath to my two daughters F. Mariah Gardner and Mary E. Ratliff all my Estate moneys notes and all, And I bequest to my son Wm. H. Glass all my Land in Texas which is four sections and that is to be his part of my Estate and my Interest in my fathers Land in Scott County, Ky. to be sold and the proceeds to be divided in like manner between my two daughters. In testimony whereof I appoint Henry Trunnell my Administrator of this my last will and Testament April 24 18-- [illegible]. Royal Glass Attest James Crigler W. The foregoing last will and Testament of Royal Glass dec'd. was on the 21st day of January 1856 produced in open court and proven by the oaths of James Crigler and W. Carpenter to be the last Will & Testament of Royal Glass, dec'd. Whereupon said Will was ordered to be recorded, which is truly done in my office. R. F. Samuels, Clk Royal Glass Heirs Agreement The contest now pending in the Bullitt County Court concerning the last Will and Testament of Royal Glass, deceased, is settled in the following manner: Wm. Gardner and F. Mariah his wife who is the daughter of the said Royal Glass & one of his devisees, and Eliza Ratliff who is the other daughter and devisee of said Glass agree that Wm. H. Glass the son of the said Royal Glass and the other devisee named in his will, shall have one third part of all the Estate devised to them in said Will, that is to say he shall share equally with them, each devisee taking one third part of said Estate, and the said Wm. H. Glass is to let the said Eliza Ratliff and Wm. Gardner and wife share equally with him in the Land devised to him by said will in the state of Texas should there be any such land there and all the said devisees are to share equally in the estate of the said Royal Glass, deceased. Elizabeth Glass the widow of the said Royal Glass is to have her bay mare Lucy Long? and two of the mules she claims, the colts of the said mare, two choice cows, one bed & bedding in addition to her own, all such household and Kitchen furniture as she purchased with her own means or made for herself and one half of all the poultry on the farm. W. H. Glass and Elizabeth Glass in consideration of the above agreement agree to let the Will of the said Royal Glass dated the [blank] day of [blank] 1855 & now lodged for record, be recorded, and do not further urge the recording of the Will dated in 1847 which is also lodged for record, and the contest is hereby ended, and the parties wish this instrument recorded by the clerk of the Bullitt County Court with the will to be recorded. Samuels Clerk of the County Court for said County do certify that on the 21st day of January 1856 the foregoing deed of Agreement between the heirs of Roayl Glass, dec'd, was produced in open Court and ordered to be entered of record.
