Hardin C.Q. JAMES) (transcribers note: this is a hand-written will) In the name of God, Amen- I, H.H.C.Q. James, of the County of Bullitt, and the State of Kentucky, being of sound mind and disposing memory and understanding, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, After all my just debts and funeral expenses and a good cut stone fence twenty inches thick and five feet high, large enough to enclose a plot of ground sixteen feet square around my grave yard is paid for and with respect to my property that God has blessed me with, I dispose of in the following manner: I give, devise and bequeath to my wife Eliza James my three farms as long as she lives. She shall keep the home farm and the eighteen acres adjoining it in good repair. There shall be no timber sold off the farms and only enough cut to keep the farms in good repair. After my wife's death I give devise and bequeath to the General Conference of the Church of God with headquarters at Stanberry, Mo. my three farms and all personnal property not otherwise disposed of in this instrument-except that I hereby reserve a plot of ground Fifty-feet square surrounding and including each of the two grave yards located on the home farm to be applied as follows: For the General Conference fund, For the Publishing work and Ministerial fund. After my debts are paid I give all my money to the General Conference of the Church of God with headquarters in Stanberry, Mo. to be applied as follows: For the General Conference fund, for the Publishing work and Ministerial fund. I give my wife my horses and all the stock on the farm, farming utensils, bees, organ, phonograph and house hold furniture not otherwise disposed of as long as she lives, after my wife's death I give all my personnal property to the General Conference of the Church of God. I give Amos Hall my Cremona violin, I give Vernon Dickey, violin No one. I give H. Erle Hall violin NO two, I give Gene C. Hall, violin No three. After my wife's death I give Eunice Ridgway my organ, I give H. Erle Hall my phonograph and records, I give Gene C Hall my new model violin- It is my wish that Rufus K Hall shall be appointed administrator. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Jan 21st 1908. H.H.C.Q. James Witnesses: S.W. Bates R.F. Owens State of Kentucky County of Bullitt Sot I, W.B. Tilden, Clerk of the Bullitt County Court, in the State of Kentucky, certify that on the 11th day of May 1908 the foregoing last will and testament of H.H.C.Q. James was produced in open Court and proved by the oath of R. F. Owens, a subscribing witness to be wholly in the hand writing of H.H.C.Q. James. The signature thereto to be the genuine signature of said H.H.C.Q. James, that he acknowledges the same to be his last will and Testament in his presence and in the presence of S. W. Bates the other subscribing witness, that they attested same at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other- full capacity of mind of said testator at the time of making said will was also proved- and same being fully proved as required by law was admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded as the last will and Testament of H.H.C.Q James which with this certificate I have truly recorded in my office this the 13th day of May, 1908. C. ================================================================================== I, Eliza James, of Bullitt County, Kentucky knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life and being of sound mind and memory do make this my last will. This the 1st day of October 1895. 1st I desire all my doctors bills and burial expenses paid. 2nd I desire my husband H. Hardin C.Q.James to have all my household furniture and household effects. 3rd I desire my money in the Union National Bank amounting at this time to the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars,- And my money in the German Security Bank amounting at this time to the sum of Two hundred and twenty five dollars. And my money in the 3rd National Bank amounting to the sum of Four hundred dollars. Also the following notes: one upon Sidney newton [sic] calling for One hundred dollars due Dec 25th, 1895 - also a note upon Simeon Bridwell calling for sixty dollars. Also my part of the note for land due myself and brother, Henry Stallings calling for Two hundred and seventy seven dollars (more or less) and its interest. And I desire my buggy to go with these notes. And I desire the money, notes and buggy to be equally divided between the Seventh Day Baptist Missionary Society and the Seventh Day Baptist American Sabbath Tract Society. I have this day set my hand to this as being my will - done in the presence of these witnesses. Eliza James Witnesses R.M.J.Pound. J.W.Simmons. H. Bridwell. Lindsay Ridgway, Clerk of the Bullitt County Court, in the State of Kentucky, certify that on the 8th day of June 1914, the foregoing last will and testament was produced in open Court and proved by the oath of H. Bridwell one of the subscribing witnesses to have been signed and acknowledged by Eliza James to be her last will and testament in his presence and in the presence of R.M.J. Pound and J. W. Simmons the other witnesses - that they attested same at her request - in her presence and in the presence of each other - the sugnatures [sic] of R.M.J. Pound and J. W. Simmons was proved to be their genuine signatures - full capacity of mind of said testatrix at the time of making said will was also proved and the probating of said will was continued until the next regular term of this Court and on the 13th day of July, 1914, same was admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded as the last will and testament of Eliza James, deceased, which with this certificate I have truly recorded in my office - this 14th day of July, 1914.
