The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net Submitted by: Anne livings1@aol.com Date: 24 Nov 2000 ********************************************************************** Bullitt County KY Will Book B p. 429 I EPHRAIM JOHNSON of the County of Bullitt being of sound mind and disposing memory (for which I thank God) and calling to mind the uncertainty of Human life and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and bequeath the same in manner following viz: First I desire that after my death that my body be decently buried and all my just debts and funeral expences be paid out of the money in hand and the debts due me at my death (should there be any) and in case there is neither money on hand nor debts due me then I desire that my executors hereafter named may sell or dispose of so much of my personal estate as will go to defray all my debts and funeral expenses. Second I give to my daughter POLLY one half of the anual hire of my negro man DAVE during her natural life and in Case of the death of my daughter ELIZA GREEN previous to the death of POLLY then and in that case POLLY is to have the whole of DAVE during her life; and at her death, DAVE is to belong to the heirs of ELIZA GREENS body, in case she has any, and if she has none DAVE is to be sold and the money divided equally amongst the residue of my children except JOSEPH he is to have no part in him. Third I give to my son JOSEPH the one half of my Land to include the house in which he now resides to be divided by my executors as to give him equal half both as it respects the soil and timber. Fourth I give to my daughter ELIZA GREEN all my household and kitchen furniture, farming utensils, horses, hogs, cattle, sheep and the crop that may be on the land and all the debts that may be due me and cash on hand should there be any after defraying all my debts and funeral expences. Also my negro woman JUDE and her child JANE and their increase to her during her natural life, and her children after her death: Also one half of my negro man DAVE during her life and in case of the death of my daughter POLLY then and in that case I allow the whole of DAVE to ELIZA GREEN during her life and to her children after her death: Also the one half of the land whereon I now live as to include my present place of residence to be equally divided by my executors both as it respects soil and timber between her and JOSEPH. Fifth I give to my son JOSEPH PHILIP one dollar to be paid out of my effects by my executors. Sixth I give to my son WILLIAM one dollar to be paid by same in same way. Seventh I give to my daughter BETSEY SHAWLER one dollar to be paid by same and in the same way. Eighth I give to my daughter RUTH SLACK one dollar to be paid by same and in the same way. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appointing my friends WILLIAM JOHNSON, RANDY SLACK and JAMES JOHNSON Executors in this my last will & testament hereby revoking all other and former wills or testaments by me heretofore made.
