Whereas Lydia Landers of Mercer County, KY, widow of the late Nathanial Landers, dec'd, by the will of said Nathanial Landers was made heir and sole devise to the 
whole of a great portion of his, the said Landers estate Now this presents Witnesses: 
the the said Lydia Landers has constituted and appointed and does hereby constitute 
and appoint Squire Shain of Bullitt county, KY her sole agent and attorney in fact to 
collect and receive any and all monies, lagacies or devises, so coming to her as the 
heir of said Nathanial Landers and whereas the said Landers, dec'd. , willed and 
devised to the said Lydia Landers the exclusive use and  ---------- of a farm in 
Bullitt county, KY, this is to authorize said Squire Shain to lease or rent the same 
at the best prices he can obtain or sell her life estate in said lands and in all 
other things pertaining to said estate to act and transact the business as the said 
Lydia Landers could do herself.  Given under my hand this 16th day of October 1848.

I, Noah C. Summers, Clerk of the county court for said county certify that this letter 
of attorney from Lydia Landers to Squire Shain was the 16 October 1848 acknowledged 
before me in my office by said Lydia Landers to be her act and deed and ordered to be 
recorded and thereupon the same and this certificate to me truly recorded in my said 
office this 2nd November.Att. C. G. Summers, CBCC
