(signed) WILLIAM POHON in the presence of us GEORGE HORINE J. W. SAMUELS Recorded 15 Aug 1842 Bullitt Co. KY Court a KY marriage cd shows: CATHERINE POHON m. HENRY SNAWDER 7 Oct 1823 Bullitt Co. KY but the above will does say ANDREW and ANDREW “SNOODER” is on the 1830 census for Bullitt Co. MARY POHON m. JOSEPH BURTON 10 Dec 1818 Bullitt Co. KY - he must have lived only a short time after the marriage because MARY (POHON) BURTON then married ALFRED HAMILTON Mary 7 Jun 1825 in Jefferson County, Kentucky Does anyone know if this is a variation of the BOHON name? They definately use a P in Bullitt Co. but if you search for POHONS in the census indexes etc. this little family is about all you find. That so often indicates some weird spelling variant and there are a lot of BOHONS over in Mercer Co. I wondered if this could be the same name. When you say it out loud a B & P could be changable. And yes, the Snowder / Snorder really appears to me to be an R and not a w. Snowder often seems to be written that way. At first I thought it was me and the handwriting but I have now seen it in some pretty clear script and still find the r. I can only guess that some people said it with an r in it? As I have said before my rule has become "if ti begins with an S ends in an R, is seen in Bullitt Co. and I can barely read it it must be Snawder..."
