I Jesse RITCHEY of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky being sick and weak in body, but of sound mind and disposing memory, and knowing the uncertainty of life, having a desire to dispose of my property amongst my relations and friends such as it has pleased God to bless me with,I do make this my last will and testament, revoking all others, in the following manner, towit: 1st, I will to my wife Nancy RICHEY all of my property both real and personal, including and embracing every species of money, property, whatever, after my just debts have been paid, with the exception of twenty dollars. 2nd, it is my will that the above mentioned twenty dollars be equally divided between my half-sisters, namely Sally SWOAP, Hannah RICHEY, Celia BRIDWELL, and Nancy YOUNG. I also will that the property willed to my wife Nancy RICHEY, she is to despose of it as she may think proper during her life. It is also my will that my wife dispose or will her property at her death as she may think proper.Given under my hand and seal this 13 day of August in the year of our Lord 1839.
