Will Book D p. 310 18 Nov 1850 On the motion of ARCHIBALD COLLINGS and T. J. BALLARD, guardians to the children and heirs of BENJAMIN C. SIMPSON deceased ordered that WILLIAM B. HAMILTON, JULIUS C. BUKY, HENRY C. HAMILTON and PEYTON BURDITT or any three first sworn be appointed commissioners to divide slaves of said decadent agreeably to law and make report to court. 2 Jan 1851 Mt. Washington, Bullitt County, Ky. We the undersigned commissioners appointed by an order of the Bullitt County to divide the Slaves between the heirs of BENJAMIN C. SIMPSON dec'd after being first sworn By AUSTIN HALL, a justice of the peace of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky proceeded to divide them as follows (viz) In the first place we divided the slaves into three parts as near as Could be namely DANIEL, a man aged about 24 years we valued at seven hundred and fifty dollars SARAH a woman aged about 53 years, DELPHA a woman aged about 28 years ISABELLA a girl aged about 3 years we valued at six hundred and Twenty five dollars MARY ANN a Girl aged about 10 years and John a boy aged about 5 years we valued at seven hundred dollars In the 2nd place we allotted to Mrs. PERMELIA W. COLLINGS (late widow of BENJAMIN C. SIMPSON) the slave DANIEL at seven hundred and fifty dollars, she paying to the children and heirs of said decedent hereafter mentioned the sum of fifty eight dollars thirty three and one third cents. And in the 3rd place we proceeded to divide the remaining two thirds of said slaves among said children & heirs said Permelia W. COLLINGS being entitled to one third as above named, we allotted to Mrs. ELIZABETH S. PHILLIPS (late SIMPSON) Girl ISABELLA valued at two hundred and twenty five dollars and JAMES W. SIMPSON pays to said ELIZABETH fifty one dollars 66 2/3 cents to make her part equal which is $276.66 2/3 cents to each child And we allotted EMELINE SIMPSON the woman SARAH valued at $200.00 and JAMES W. SIMPSON pays EMELINE Seventy one dollars 66 2/3 cents and Mrs. PER LINA W. COLLINGS pays to her five dollars And we allotted to SARAH P. SIMPSON the Negro boy JOHN valued at $300 and she pays to JOSEPH SIMPSON $23.33 1/3 cents And we allotted to JOSEPH SIMPSON the woman DELPHA valued at $200 and Mrs. PERLINA W. COLLINGS pays him $53.33 1/3 cents and SARAH P. SIMPSON pays him $23.33 1/3 cents which makes him equal And we allotted to JAMES W. SIMPSON the Girl MARY ANN valued at $400 and he pays to Mrs. ELIZABETH A. PHILLIPS $51.66 1/3 cents and pays to EMMELINE SIMPSON $71.66 1/3 cents which divisions make them all equal their respective parts being $276.66 2/3 cents except the late Widow Mrs. PERLINA W. COLLINGS her interest being one third of the whole which is $691.66 2/3 cents for her part having valued the whole number of slaves at $2,075.
