Will Book A In the name of God, amen. I Jesse SIMMONS of Bullitt Co., citizen of Kentucky being weak and frail in body but being in my right mind and posessing duly all my rational faculty do ordain, make and appoint this my last will and testament in this manner and form following towit: First of all it is my will and devise that all my just debts be paid out of my estate. 2nd I give and bequeath unto my beloved Sons Lilburn, Sedgwick and William SIMMONS this plantation manor I now live containing this hundred and twenty three acres to them and their heirs forever. 3rd It is my will and devise that all the remaining part of my estate of every description both real and personal along with two negro men named Basil and Peter be sold to the highest bidder in twelve months... and the money to be divided in the following maner towit: Lilburn, Sedgwick, William SIMMONS my three sons and Elizabeth LEERIGHT and Catherine RUBY my two daughters will have an equal proportion. Also the legal heirs of my daughter Sarah ROUSE will have an equal part of said money to be equally divided amongst the others and to be paid to them as they arrive at lawfull age to marry. Also I bequeath unto my daughter Sarah ROUSE five shillings in current money to be paid out of my estate and lastly I appoint my beloved sons Lilburn and William my executors to this my last will and testament, whereby I revoke, disanull and make void all other prior wills or testaments I have made. Moses ROUSE and Sally his wife, Reason RUBY and Catherine his wife, and Ignatious BROWN and Margaret his wife all of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of one part to Ludwick SIMMONS and William W. SIMMONS of Bullitt Co. KY That whereas Jesse SIMMONS dec’d possessed certain tracts or parcels of Land in Bullitt County, one on the Waters of Cedar Creek on the South side of Salt River containing 132 acres, and also other tracts of land the quantity not known to any of the parties hereto named in the will of Jesse SIMMONS dec’d. Whereas Jesse SIMMONS made his will which is of record in the County Court of Bullitt County he devised unto Sedwick SIMMONS, William W. SIMMONS and Lilburn SIMMONS the lands aforesaid and Lilburn, having departed this life without issue, and the said Sally ROUSE and Katherine RUBY, Sedwick SIMMONS and William SIMMONS being his brothers and sisters inherited the same in equal proportions and the said Margaret BROWN, now the wife of Ignatious BROWN being the widow and relict of the said Lilburn and being entitled to the one third part of the said William and Sedwick having purchased several interests aforesaid to the part held by Lilborn from the said ROUSE and wife for the sum of $12.50 and from Igantious BROWN and wife for $30.00 do hereby acknowleged they have bargained, sold, released and conveyed to Sedwick and William W. the right and title ... to have and to hold... KY Will Book C p. 330 In the name of God, Amen. I OSCAR B. SIMMONS being sick and diseased in body, but of sound mind and disposing memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in the words following - Item first. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife NANCY SIMMONS one bay mare now at her fathers in Marion County, one bed and bedding, One bureau to her and her heirs forever. Item 2 I will and bequeath to my father SAMUEL SIMMONS one bay horse called Reform, one saddle and bridle, and one bed and bedding the same bed he gave me, to him and his heirs forever. Item 3 I will and bequeath all my cloths and books except my novels which I have given to my wife NANCY SIMMONS, to my mother to be picked up in a Trunk and be by her safely kept for the purposes that I have directed. Item 4 It is my will and desire that all my estate both real, personal and mixed not otherwise disposed of should after my death be sold, my personal estate on a credit of one and two years and the proceeds are --- therefore be applied first to the payment of my just Debts and liabilities and the balance I give and bequeath as follows, one third to my wife NANCY to her and her heirs forever, the balance I will and bequeath to my little son to be by his guardian safely loaned on Interest and judiciously applied to educating him. Item 5 It is my will and request that my mother take my little son after my death and raise him and see that he is properly educated. Item 6 It is my will and request that my - (left blank) SAMUEL SIMMONS should, at my father’s death be sole heir to that portion of my said father’s estate that would be coming to me at my father’s death if I were then living.
