KY Will Book G p. 617 In obedience to an order of the Bullitt County Court we the undersigned Commissioners (appointed) for the purpose of dividing a certain tract of land formerly owned by WM. WELSH and conveyed by him to his heirs proceeded and met on the land on the 23rd day of September 1861 and in conjunction with the Surveyor of Bullitt County and adjourned the next day the 24th... After ascertaining the boundary of land and its contents we proceeded and divided the same as follows: Lot #1 allotted to WILLIAM WELSH which he inherited by the death of his son JOSEPH WELSH and bounded as follows Beginning at a stake on the west bank of Knob Creek in VAUGHN’s line, corner to land sold by WM. WELSH to PROBST thence with VAUGHN’s line to a corner to land conveyed by JOEL VAUGHN to WM. WELSH thence to the top of the Knob corner to land sold by WM. WELSH to JAMES FUNK thence with said FUNK’s line meandering the brow of the hill.... running through to the milddle of a spring to a stake in the west side of Knob Creek and PROBST line thence with same to the Beginning containing 39 1/2 acres. Lot #2 allotted to CATHARINE DIXON wife of JAMES DIXON bounded by a corner to lot #1 which is allotted to William WELSH thence through a spring on the west side of Knob Creek in PROBST line... thence with same to a Sycamore on the west side of Knob Creek division corner to Lot #3 which is allotted to MARY JANE LEWIS thence with her line to corner of MARY JANE LEWIS and THOMAS WELSH thence with THOS. WELSH line east to THOMAS WELSH, CAROLINE FUNK and timbered land of MARY J. LEWIS ... thence to a stake on the top of a Knob in JAMES FUNK’S line of his 58 acre tract...to the beginning containing 37 acres. Lot #3 is allotted to MARY JANE LEWIS wife of HENRY LEWIS on elot of bottonm and one of Hill in timbered land and bounded by division corner to CATHARINE DIXON Lot thence to a corner to Thomas WELSH thence with his line to a branch corner to land sold by WILLIAM WELSH to ROBERT (or ROBERTS?) to the west bank of the creek division corner to CATHARINE DIXONS lot to the Beginning containing 171/4 acres. We also allotted to MARY JANE LEWIS a lot or boundary of timbered land bounded by CAROLINE FUNK and CATHARINE DIXON thence with CAROLINE FUNK’s to the north side of the road FUNK’s corner also corner to WM. WELSH’s lot which he inherited by the death of his son WM. WELSH thence with his line to a corner of James FUNK’s 30 acre tract... to the beginning containing 22 1/2 acres Lot #4 we allotted THOMAS WELSH with the following boundary: Beginning at a Beech in a hollow division to CATHARINE DIXON, MARY JANE LEWIS, CAROLINE FUNK thence with CAROLINE FUNKS line to a corner to EMALINE JOYCE thence with her line to the west edge of Knob Creek to a stake on the bank corner to Wm. VAUGHN and EMALINE JOYCE thence down the creek with VAUGHN’s line to a stake corner to said LEWIS and Catharine DIXON thence with DIXON’s line to the Beginning Containing 41 acres. Lot #5 Was allotted to EMALINE JOYCE wife of HARISON (?) JOYCE with the following boundary. Beginning at a stake on the west edge of Knob Creek to a corner to THOMAS WELSH thence to land corner to HENRY CRIST...to division corner to CAROLINE FUNK containing 39 1/2 acres. Lot #6 We allotted to CAROLINE FUNK, wife of JAMES FUNK with the following boundaries: standing on the side of the County road division corner to JAMES C. WELSH thence with his line on the west side of a rocky branch in WM. WELSH old line thence with said line... to a division corner to Emaline JOYCE thence with her line to a Sugartree corner to THOMAS WELSH thence with his line to a Beech division Corner to THOMAS WELSH, CATHARINE DIXON and MARY JANE LEWIS... to a Beech on the north side of the road corner to MARY JANE LEWIS and WM. WELSH thence with the road to the beginning containing 64 acres. Lot #7 to JAMES C. WELSH we allotted. Beginning at a white oak and red oak... to a sink hole on west side of the County Road... to a corner to MOORE and PETER MILLER thence with MILLER’s line to the top of a knob with WELSH old line... to a rocky hollow division to CAROLINE FUNK thence with line to a corner to CAROLINE FUNK and WILLIAM WELSH... to the Beginning containing 60 acres 2 rood 34 poles. Lot #8 we allotted to William WELSH which interest on lot the said William WELSH inherited by the death of his son WILLIAM WELSH which includes the house and other improvements in which HENRY LEWIS now lives and bounded as follows. Beginning at a Beech standing in the north side of the County and division corner to CAROLINE FUNK and MARY JANE LEWIS thence with LEWIS’ line .... to a corner to JAMES FUNKS 30 acre tract thence with FUNKS line ... to a cherry tree in WILLIAM WELSH old line thence to a corner of JAMES C. WELSHS lot... to a corner to JAMES C. WELSH and Caroline FUNK thence to the Begnning containing 42 acres 3 rood. We the Commissioners have agreed that owners of Lots 6, 7 & 8 shall pay the sum of one hundred dollars, Lot #8 shall pay fifty dollars and lots 6 & 7 shall pay Twenty five dollars each said one hundred dollars to expended and used to apy all cost and expenses of the within division and the remainder, if any left to be equally divided between the heirs named in this division.
