Kittinger Column 3 Mr. Hubert Read and wife visited Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Humphrey Sunday. Rev. Guynn failed to fill his regular appointment at New Point Pleasant Sunday on account of sickness. The A. S. of E. Lodge met last Friday night. Mr. John of Austin went to town Monday. Mrs. T. D. Ellis who has been Ill for the past mouth is able to visit her daughter Mrs. Idra Sampson Russ in the big Bend. Mr. Moe Miller attended a party at Monticello last Friday evening and he says there is a lot of pretty girls over there. Sunday was Mr. Ernest Hawes birthday and several of his friends were present. Mr. Justin Mckinney was in the Bend last Sunday eve. Wonder why? Mr. Lon Haynse has returned from a trip out west. He says there is nothing like old Kentucky. Rev. J. E. Bruce will preach at the Baptist District next Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Dick McCrocklyn and wife visited Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Mckinney last Friday. Since the farmers club has been organized the hens have all struck for higher wages. Hello there we are waiting for the B. G. W. Mr. Hunter McCrcoklyn has gone hog wild and corn crazy. Topsy Truvey Mrs. Nannie A. Shrum, (--- Fisher) Age 25 years 3 months and 2 days died at her home near Rochester in Ohio County on the 18th last, of con---- after a lingering illiness --- --- about two years. Mrs. B--- unreadable------ --- of our townsmen, --------- ----- who with nearly all the m--------- -------- the family was present at the time of her death. Mrs. Shro--- professed religion several years ago at a revival meeting at this place, conducted by Rev. Watson. Mrs. Shrum bore her suffering with remarkable Christian fortitude and retained consciousness till death, and just before death came she asked why it was growing so dark and asked her friends if the end had come and upon being informed that such was so, she asked to be raised up in bed when she extended her hands and told all good bye. On being asked if she was ready to die she said yea, indeed she was ready and peacefully fell asleep in Jesus. We extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family. Column 3, 4 & 5 J. A. Tanner & Co Column 5 Miss Sable Sublett visited friends and relatives in and near Morgantown this week. Mrs. May C. Hill has returned from visiting relatives in Warren County. Mr. and Mrs. Will Hollins has returned from visiting Mrs. Joe Cole who is confined to her room with rheumatism. Mr. Vincent Tucker of Rochester is still in town. There must be some attraction here for Vincent. Mr. Dick Simpson is very sick with stomach trouble. The box supper given for the benefit of the church was quite a success. The boys say that they are going to give the next supper and let the girls do the buying. Mr. Clyde Ellis left on Sunday nights boat for Bowling Green. Mr. James Phelps who has been very sick for sometime with bronchitis is no better. Miss Lela Williams has returned from Dunbar where she has been visiting relatives. Miss Bessie Finney and little niece Pauline Finney are visiting relatives in Warren county this week. Uncle Hez White after a pleasant visit here of several days returned home. T. J. Alvin Lee and Wesley Shearer went to Bowling Green this week on business. Mr. B. Y. Guffy of Nashville, Tenn., is visiting his sister Mrs. Chas. Fisher. Capt.
