Mrs. Wilbur Kuykendall Louisville, Ky., is visiting friends and relatives in town. Dr. Clarence Render, Edmond, Okla., is visiting his brother Squire J. E. Render, Logansport. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Hunt have returned from Evansville. Mr. J. S. Gilliam of Bowling Green is in town mingling with old friends. Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Moats and son Oval Embry extended their trip from Dawson Springs on to Henderson, Evansville and Louisville. Mr. and Mrs. Will Kuykendall returned Sunday from Dawson Springs where Mrs. Kuykendall has been for several days. Mrs. H. B. Morehead accompanied her daughter Miss Corinne to the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bowling Green last Wednesday ------------------- operation for a chronic trouble. She is doing splendid and will be able to return home in a few days. Mr. L. T. Jamison of Bowling Green was with us this week. He gave us a dollar for renewal fort\ the G . R. R. Says he can’t do without it. Mrs. Fred Crane of Hamilton, Ohio, formerly Miss Elizabeth South of Bowling Green and Miss. Mattie McLean of Bowling Green, have been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Kittinger. Miss. Gladys Haynes is the guest of relatives in Big Bend. Mr. and Mrs. John M. Carson and Mrs. Judson Sharer and Mrs. J. E. Doolin and daughter, Miss Polly, and Misses Dorsie Howard and Golda Leach are in Evansville this week. Mr. and Mrs. John W. Moore entertained with a six o’clock dinner at their country home last Tuesday evening. Those present were Mrs. Fred Crane, Misses. Mae and Dixie Belle Helm, W. T. Kittinger and Col. W. A. Helm. Atty. E. N. Mayhugh is in Owensboro on legal business. Mr. R. E. Known is in Louisville attending the Circuit Clerk’s Convention. Mr. and Mrs. Alexander, Logansport, were in town Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Whalin and son, and Mrs. John L. Whalin were the last week-end guest of Mr. Adrian Whalin and family, Green Castle, Ky. Mr. J. W. Howard, dealer in dry goods, groceries, ect., is having his store fixed up in good style. He is going to carry a first class stock of dry goods and notions and keep a full line of clean groceries; has come to town to stay. Competition is the life of trade. Call and examine his stock of goods and get his prices before buying elsewhere. He can save you money. Column 2 LOCAL ITEMS Everybody can! Put your spare time into cans and jars. Quite a crowd of Morgantown people attended the dedication of Temple View church last Sunday. The Rev. A. B. Gardener delivered the dedication sermon. Mr. Willie Jones last Monday purchased from Mrs. R. S. Rives one dozen thoroughbred Brown Leghorn chickens and cockerel. It pays to advertise also, to keep only thoroughbred stock. Judson Sharer has an ad this week with us. He has moved to the store formerly occupied by J. S. Gilliam. He carries a complete stock of Burial Caskets, Robes, etc. also has a big lot of new furniture and handles the National stoves and ranges. R. S. Rives Geo. F. Scott was at his residence near W. A. Helm’s on Saturday, Aug. 18 at 1 o’clock pm offer for sale his household and kitchen furniture, a No. 1 Jersey cow, buggy and harness, garden tools and a lot of books. Also if you wish to purchase a home near Morgantown see Mr. Scott. Mrs. A. J. Helm 1. T. Dockery Thaxton Belcher and Brother Mr. Myers Column 4 Beautiful Wedding The marriage of Miss. Sarah Smith to Professor Pierce Guerin, was beautifully solemnized Wednesday evening at 6:30 at the bride’s home two miles from Woodbury. The bride who has ever been considered one of Woodbury’s most charming young ladies wore a beautiful gown of white satin and carried a bouquet of cream roses and ferns. Those present were Misses. Grace Sublett, Goldie Martin, Margie Ellis, Mrs. John Smith, Otis Cook and the officieiating minister Rev. Scharzenbacher. After the wedding a delightful supper was served. The table was beautifully decorated with golden glow and the purest silver. The groom’s home is in Calloway County, he is a graduate of the W. K. S. N. school at Bowling Green, and this year takes the principal ship of a High School in Tenn. Mr. and Mrs. Guerin will leave Aug. 19 for a bridal trip to the Mammoth Cave. Their future home will be in Tenn. They are showered by a host of good wishes from their many friends. Margie Ellis Woodbury, Ky. Miss Ora D. Willis and Mr. W. L. Williams were married at the home of the bride at Asphalt, Ky. on the afternoon of Aug. 11th. Miss Willis is the daughter of one of the most prosperous farmers in Edmonson County while Mr. Williams is the only son of a prominent broker of Lexington, Ky. Helm & Helm Capt. Sturgeon J. V.
