Witnesseth that the aforesaid Charles STATEN for and in consideration of the sum of Eighty dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge hath aliened bargained and sold and do by these presents alienate bargain and sell convey and confirm unto the said John REED all my right and title to a certain tract or parcel of land and Premises lying and being in the County of Caldwell on the Sinking Fork of Livingston Creek it being a moiety or balance of an undivided two hundred acre tract or survey made in the name of Cornelius MERRY assignee of George BYRAM after one hundred and twenty five acres shall be laid off which was property sold to the said REED and has since been deeded or conveyed to one Sarah DUNKLIN which balance or undivided part is supposed to contain seventy five acres be the same more or less. I the said STATEN do hereby covenant for myself and heirs forever to warrant and defend the said lands tenements and Premises from all persons who claim in by or through me,and from all and every other claim or claimant whatsoever lawfully claiming the same and also from all rights and dowers mortgages and incumbrances that is or may be to or on the same lands. To the only proper use and behoof of him the said REED and his heirs forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 7th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten. I John H.PHELPS Clerk of said court do certify the the within deed from Charles STATEN to John REED was on this day acknowledged by the said Chas.STATEN to be his act and deed and ordered to be recorded & that a true copy stands of Record in my office.
