The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************** Book B, p. 234 Stubblefield to Barnett Pittsylvania County, Virginia Deed Book 13, p. 76 This Indenture made this 17th day of June 1802 between Thomas Barnett of the county of Pittsylvania of the one part and John Barnett of the said county and David Bullock of the county of Louisa of the other part that is to say, for and in consideration of the sum of six shillings in hand paid to the said Thomas Barnett by the said John Barnett and David Bullock before the signing and delivering of these presents and for the further securing and indemifying James Barnett and Francis L. Campbell of the county of Goochland as security for the said Thomas Barnett to a replevey bond given to Smith Young & Hyde on a decree of the High Court of Chancery which decree the said Thomas Barnett took an appeal to the high court of apeals which apeal is yet undetermined and may not be determined for many years and said securitys for fear of accidents wishes to be made safe, for the above considerations the said Thomas Barnett hereby bargains and sell and by these presents hath bargained and sold unto the aforesaid John Barnett and David Bullock the following property to wit, ten negroes namely, Cisus, a man, Sam, a man, Rachel, a girl, Anny, a girl, Ledy, a girl, Nance, a girl, they & their increase also twelve fether beds and furniture and all other of my household furniture of ever kind whatsoever a four sheal carage & a two wheal ...a waggon & ox cart together with... ... and one stud horse Milor, one black horse one sorrel horse and three bay mares four oxen and thirty one head of cattle, to them the said John Barnett and Francis L. Campbell to be called on for payment as security to the said Thomas Barnett to the bond aforesaid, then and in that the said John Barnett and David Bullock is to take into their possiton all or any part of the property herein named and sell for redy money so much thereof as will sattisfy the debt costs and interest on giving ten days notice on one of the publick court days of the county of Pittsylvania wherein the estate now lies and sattisfy and pay of all the claims that can come against the said James Barnett and Francis L. Campbell as being security to the bond aforesaid in witnessing hereof the said Thomas Barnett have hereunto asigned his name and afixed his seal the day and date above written.
