Calloway County, Kentucky Deed Book B, p. 470
THis indenture made this 6th day of June in the year of our Lord
one thousand Eight hundred & thirty four between Alexander D.
Jackson of the first part and James Barnett of the second part both
of the County of Calloway and commonwealth of Kentucky Witnesseth
the said Alexander D. Jackson for and in concideration of the sum
of twenty seven dollars & 60 cents to him in hand paid by the said
James Barnett the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath
bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto
the said James Barnett and to his heirs and assigns forever all
that pice or parcel of land lying and being in the County of
Calloway & Commonwealth aforesaid on Blood River and bounded as
follows begining at a read oak James W. Malons north west corner
thence south 7 1/2 degrees west forty (40) poles to pointers on the
side of a hill thense west 5 degrees North (192) one hundred &
ninety two poles to a stake James Barnett south west corner thence
east 7 1/2 degrees south 187 one hundred eighty seven poles along
James Barnett lin to the beginning it being the North east corner
of the South quarter of Section thirteen township one range five
east and contains twenty four acres of land be the same more or
less together with all and singular the preveledges hereditaments
and appertenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaing and
the revision and reversions & remainders rents if ever and profits
thereof and also all the estate right title interest claim or
demands whatsoever of him the said Alexander D. Jackson wither in
law or in equity of in and to the above bargained premises and
every part and parcel thereof to have and to hold to the said James
Barnett his heirs and assigns to the sole and only proper use
befefit and behoof of said James Barnett his heirs and assigns
forever and the said Alexander D. Jackson and his heirs singular
the aforesaid lands and tenements hereditaments and premises and
every part and parcel thereof the said Alexander D. Jackson his
heirs and assigns and against all and every other person lawfully
claiming shall and will warrant and forever defend by these
presents to the said James Barnett his heirs and assigns forever
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal
