The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************** Book C, p. 197 Rebecca Barnett's will Calloway County, Kentucky Deed Book C, p. 197 In the name of God Amen, I Rebecca Barnett of the county of Calloway Being sick and weak in Body but of sound mind and disposing memory (for which I thank God) and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and Being Desirous to Dispose of all such wordly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with. 1st I desire that all the perishable part of my Estate be immediately sold after my Decease and out of the money arising therefrom all my just debts and funeral Expenses to be paid. 2nd I give and Bequeth to my Daughter Marion A. Jones one feather Bed and furniture and Bedsted. Also I give and Bequeth to my Daughter Martha L. Bibb one feather Bed furniture and Bedstead. 3rd I give and Bequeth to my Daugters Marion A. Jones and Martha L. Bibb and my Grandchildren Sarah A.E. Barnett and James B. Barnett son and Daughter of my son James Barnett all the Ballance of my property, my four Negroes Namely, Lyda, Sally, Nancy and Julia and my cash notes, to be equally Divided into three shares by my Executor hereinafter named applying to the county court and having commissioners appointed to value and Divide said slaves and money when collected, the right of the above named Legacies to remain in my Daughters and Grandchildren and their children forever. I also appoint my friend James McKnight the Guardean of my two Grandchildren herein named and desire him to have charge of Estate herein named until they are of age. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint My son in law James Jones my Executor of this my last will and testament.
