Calloway County, Kentucky Deed Book L, p. 138
This Indenture made and entered into this 10th day of November 1848
between James M. Barnett and Nancy A. Barnett his wife of the one
part and Peter S. Hamlin of the other part all of Calloway County
Kentucky: Witnesseth: That the said James M. Barnett for and in
consideration of the sum of Three hundred & twenty dollars to him
in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath
granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain
sell and convey unto the said Peter S. Hamlin a certain tract or
parcel of land lying and being in the County and State aforesaid
on the waters of Blood River and know and designated as the North
East quarter of Section seven Township one Range 6 East containing
one hundred and sixty acres more or less together with all and
singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise
appurtaining. To have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the
appurtenances unto the said Peter S. Hamlin his heirs & etc forever
and the said James M. Barnett for himself his heirs & etc the land
hereby conveyed with the appurtenances unto the said Peter S.
Hamlin his heirs and assings free from the claim or claims of all
and every person or persons whatsoever doth and will warrant and
forever defend by these presents In witness whereof the said Jame
M. Barnett together with Nancy A. Barnett his wife who hereby
relinquishes her right of dower in and to the land conveyed in this
deed hereunto set their hand & seals the date above written.

State of Kentucky Calloway County 
I Paris M. Ellison clerk of the county court for the county
aforesaid do certify that this deed from James M. Barnett and Nancy
A. Barnett his wife to Peter S. Hamlin was produced to P.M. Ellison
deputy for E.H. Curd my predecessor on the 10th day of Nov 1848 and
acknowledged by the said James M. Barnett to be his act and deed
as appears from an endorsement made thereon in the hand writing of
Ellison deputy as aforesaid in these words "Ackld 10th Nov 1848
and on this day duly lodged for record. Whereupon the said deed
together with this certificate hath been duly admitted to record
in my office Given under my hand this 6th day of June A D 1860.
