Taylor, Newport KY Dear Friend I have but little news to write more than my health is tolerable good I been lately moved to this place from Point Lookout. I am verry mutch dissatisfied with this place on account of having to drink river water which is almost luke warm. The prisoners here are generly healty. The nights are quite cool for this season of the year. I pass off the time verry heavily as I have no Books to read. You will pleas send me some Books one English Grammar one Comstocks Philosophy one Websters Dictionary one Arrithmetick.
