Although she had been in ill health for some time, she retired Saturday night, apparently as well as usual, but at nine o'clock she called the family complaining with her heart. At 12:45 Sunday morning a stroke came with fatal results. Mrs. Ida Belle (Starkey) Dunn was born November 13, 1870, departing this life November 24, 1940, at the age of 70 years and 11 days. On April 24, 1889, she was married to James Willard Dunn, and to this union were born eight children, six surviving: Mrs. Oscar (Katie Pearl) Driskell, Mrs. Gladys Adams, Covington; Carl, of Hebron, Clarence, Chester and Elmer, Carroll County. Connie and Esther Belle preceeded her in death several years ago. Mrs. Dunn also leaaves one brother, Charles Starkey, of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mrs. Dunn was a consistent member of the Hopewell Methodist Church, and a faithful attendant until some six years ago, when her health failed. She often spoke of going on, and her preparations were made for that last call. Funeral services ere held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Hopewell by her pastor, Rev. Gardner. Pallbearers were Messrs. Charles C. Starkey, Robert A. Driskell, George Taylor, Ray Thompson, Oscar Driskell, and Laverne Craig. Flowerbearers included Misses Thelma Eckton, Dorthey Baker, Dorothy Adams, Florence Belle and Mary K. Taylor, Katie Ruth Yocum, Mae Starkey, Cleo and Minnie McEntire.
