The Daily Independent
Mildred Marie Richardson Lewis died Dec. 10, 1994 at the age of 80.  She was born
May 24, 1914 in Carter County; daughter of the late Christopher Carson and Arminta
Pitts Richardson.  

She retired after 31 years as a teacher in the Carter County School System and
taught 12 years as a substitute after her retirement.  She was a Methodist and a
member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors: four sons, Donald Carson Lewis, William Douglas Lewis, Stephen Henry
Lewis and Paul Thomas Lewis; a daughter, Mattie Helen Wood; three sisters, Cynthia
Hilger, Mina Boggs and Florence Smith; two brothers, Floyd Richardson and Sandy
Richardson; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Sparks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.  Funeral services were conducted
by Elwood Cooper.  Burial in the Richardson Family Cemetery.
