Lucas had been making his home with a son, Oscar Lucas Jr. of Sandyville. He was a retired member and a member of the Methodist Church and the United Mine Workers of America. Born in Carter County, Kentucky, September 22, 1888, he was the son of Pete and Mary McGowan Lucas. Other survivors include five sons, George of Victor, William C of Montgomery, Raymond L of Clintonville Colorado, Charles E, of Victor, and Daniel E of Cleveland, Ohio. Five daughters, Mrs. Ruby E Phillips of Montgomery, Mrs. Eva M Ware of Smithers, Mrs. Betty Jo Holley of Dunbar, Mrs. Evelyn M Conrad of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Mrs. Louise Welch of Jeffersonville Ind. One brother, Perry Lucas of Prosperity, a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Razor Of Owingsville, Ky. 47 Grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren also survive.
