He was born about 1779 in Betetort, Virginia. Francas Flowers Jones was the daughter of Zadock and Elizabeth (Margaret?) Jones. She was born Nov. 4, 1791 in Delaware. James and Francas were married Aug. 14, 1812 (?), in Casey Co.,. Kentucky. They probably lived in an old Allen house that was on the road running South of Liberty, Kentucky. In the late nineteenth century it was used as a toll house. The house burned down about 1903. The original house was a large three room log house. Today this location is on Highway 127 about seven miles south of Liberty. James Allen was a surveyor. The following records indicate that he was the county surveyor for Casey Co. for several years: Casey Co., Kt. Shaffner, Taliaferro P., The [Casey County section of the] Kentucky State Register for the year 1847, Lousiville, Morton & Griswold, 1847, p. 63-64. Surveyor James Allen James used his earnings to purchase nine hundred acres of land along the Green River. The river was to the west and there were foothills and low mountains on the south and east. In 1970 the old Allen family house was gone and another smaller modern house had been built in its place but there was still a small house in the yard that was said to be where Francas Allen’s father (Zadock Jones) lived until his death in 1850. According to the minujtes of the Southern Kentucky Association of Separate Baptists held at the Greasy Creek Meeting House, Russell County, Ky. The second Saturday in August, 1837, and days following. There was a congrigation meeting at “Allen’s Meeting House in Casey Co. James Allen was listed as the messenger and there were 16 members. Several of their children had gone to Iowa and Missouri. Their son Zadock M. and his wife Rachel lived in Newton, Jasper Co., Iowa. Rachael died when their youngest son John Flowere was born in 1854. Zacock sent the two boys (James and John) back to Kentucky. They are listed on the 1860 Census. When Zadock moved his family to Montana in 1866 he sent for his sons and they went to Montana with the rest of the family. Some of the other children moved back when the Civil War started. James died in June of 1864. About 1869 their son Sovern Wallace sold his part of the inheritance to one of his sistere and returned to Caldwell County, Missouri with his wife Elizabeth Isabelle Kerr. In March of 1870, Francas Jones Allen withdrew her membership form the Separate Baptist Church in Casey County. “Casey Co., Kentucky, 2nd Saturday in March l, 1870. We of the Separate Baptist Church at Allen’s Meeting House do dismiss our Sister, Francas Allen by request, in full fellowship. Agreed by order of the Church by Lawhorn Moderator, B. N. C. Allen, clerk” The B. N. C. Allen who signed Francas Allen’s dismissal from the Church was her oldest son and second Child, Benjamin Newton Charles Allen. He stayed on the old Allen place long afer the other brothers and sisters had left. He had a country store near the home place and also managed the Post Office (inside the store). The store and Post Office were discontinued in 1878. In 1976, to celebrate the Bicentennial fo Coldwell Co., Missouri, the citizens decided to cleanup all the old cemeteries. One of these was the Kerr Cemetery at a small place named Kerr, about ten miles east of Cameron, Missouri. Francas F. Allen was burried there.
